Structure estimate only — not a full payroll run.

How this Salary Calculator works

Monthly CTC = annual CTC ÷ 12. Basic = monthly CTC × basic%. HRA = basic × HRA%. Remaining monthly CTC is treated as other allowances in this illustration — real structures add special, LTA, and employer contributions separately.

How to use

  1. Enter annual CTC from the offer letter or budget.
  2. Set basic as a percent of monthly CTC (40% is a common starting point).
  3. Set HRA as a percent of basic (often 40–50%).
  4. Review component split before modelling PF, PT, and TDS elsewhere.

Salary Calculator — FAQs

What is the difference between CTC and in-hand salary?

CTC includes employer costs and gross components; in-hand is after employee deductions like PF, PT, and TDS.

Why is basic kept at 40%?

Many Indian employers use 40–50% basic to balance PF/HRA/tax outcomes — not a legal requirement.

Should variable pay sit inside CTC?

Performance and retention bonuses are often shown separately — clarify what is guaranteed vs variable.

Can I reverse-engineer CTC from in-hand?

Use the net salary calculator with assumed deductions; iteration is normal during negotiations.

Does this include employer PF?

This salary calculator splits employee-side components only — add employer PF in the CTC calculator.

How do freshers use a salary calculator?

Compare offers with the same basic/HRA assumptions to avoid headline CTC traps.

Will IntelloHRM match this structure?

Import your component percentages in IntelloHRM and generate payslips to compare line-by-line.

Are allowances taxable?

Most cash allowances are taxable unless specifically exempt — this tool does not compute tax.

What about ESOP in CTC?

ESOP is not cash salary — exclude from monthly component splits unless your policy treats it differently.

How often should structures be revised?

Review on promotion, city transfer, or statutory changes — at least annually for SMEs.
